Natural Dyes Hand-drawn Batik
  1. Separate natural dyes hand-drawn batik from other clothes when washing.

  2. Wash natural dyes hand-drawn batik with lerak soap (Sapindus rarak), not detergent.

  3. Wash natural dyes hand-drawn batik by hand, not in a washing machine.

  4. Dry natural dyes hand-drawn batik upside down and not exposed to direct sunlight.

  5. Do not spray perfume on natural dyes hand-drawn batik because the substances contained in the perfume will react with the natural dyes hand-drawn batik, causing the natural dyes hand-drawn batik to become stained or spotty.

  6. When ironing, layer another fabric on top of the natural dyes hand-drawn batik so that the natural dyes hand-drawn batik doesn't shine when exposed to the hot temperature of the iron.

  7. Store natural dyes hand-drawn batik using silica gel, or vetiver and pepper to reduce humidity which can cause mold and moths to appear. Camphor is a hard material for natural dyes hand-drawn batik.

Synthetic Dyes Hand-painted Batik
  1. Separate synthetic dyes hand-painted batik from other clothes when washing.

  2. Wash synthetic dyes hand-painted batik with lerak soap (Sapindus rarak), not detergent.

  3. Wash synthetic dyes hand-painted batik by hand, not in a washing machine.

  4. Dry synthetic dyes hand-painted batik upside down and not exposed to direct sunlight.
