Hand-drawn Batik Care Instructions
Separate hand-drawn batik from other clothes when washing.
Wash hand-drawn batik with lerak soap (Sapindus rarak), not detergent.
Wash hand-drawn batik by hand, not in a washing machine.
Dry hand-drawn batik upside down and not exposed to direct sunlight.
Do not spray perfume on hand-drawn batik because the substances contained in the perfume will react with the hand-drawn batik, causing the hand-drawn batik to become stained or spotty.
When ironing, layer another fabric on top of the hand-drawn batik so that the hand-drawn batik doesn't shine when exposed to the hot temperature of the iron.
Store hand-drawn batik using silica gel, or vetiver and pepper to reduce humidity which can cause mold and moths to appear. Camphor is a hard material for hand-drawn batik.
